Whether you had a special someone or not, we all can appreciate a little style. This Valentine’s Day my husband took me by total surprise when he had the whole evening planned out for us to enjoy. A few days before, my husband told me to find something to wear for Valentine’s Day. He didn’t give any details just find something to wear, me loving the fact that I just went shopping not too long ago for this occasion had me all excited, but to my surprise he didn’t like my ideas. Well, it’s not that he didn’t like it but it wasn’t the appropriate attire for the evening he had planned. After searching high and low we found a winner. The outfit I put together was perfect for the evening, we went to the movies, took Tango, ballroom, and Rumba lessons, then we concluded the night with dinner at Streetside Seafood in Royal Oak. Here’s a look at my V-Day attire for the evening.
I fell in love with this coat at by Ellen Tracy at Macy’s. This coat came in burgandy and camel. I not only fell in love with this color but the price as well, I definitely got this coat for a steal. It was originally $740 but I walked out the store with it for $250, not bad considering the original price. I had the boots since late October/ early November when they were fresh off the runway. My sister fell in love with these boots at BCBG and insisted on me buying them, I’m not the type to spend that amount on shoes ALL ( they were $700) the time so she bought them for me! I have such a great little-big sister (lol). The shirt and sweater both came from Forever21. I thought it would be different to wear my thigh high boots with a long faux leather skirt because it was a definite trend on the runway for NYFW. I don’t know what was my inspiration for this outfit, I basically through together so goodies from my closet (minus the coat). The coat added a classic look. I love a dramatic piece, whether it’s makeup, a coat/jacket, accessories or just whatever you choose, dramatic pieces gives the outfit a complete look without going completely over board.
I also style my husband, take a glance at his Valentine’s Day look.
My hubby was styled from Express from head to toe. Well, not really his shoes are from Barney’s. I would recommend anyone, especially men to shop at Express. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a suit or suit separates, Express is definitely the way to go. They definitely know how to stay current on the fashion scene without the high price. Cobalt Blue is definitely the must have color this Spring, don’t you agree? Let me know what you think!
